I was wondering how do you get inspect crankshafts to see if they are still good...? I just tore apart a yama 650 w/ 150psi in each cylinder and it was spinning nice a freelly. But I noticed its a welded SBT reman crank...the whole engine is a reman.

Anyways, any help would be great!

there are specs in the manual ( at least for kawasaki engines)

you check runout, rod end play, several different ways to measure and check using feeler guages, and some other measuring tools.

If you dont have the tools, and dont know how, I would likely send it off.

that being said, ive re-used a few that looked ok, didnt have heated up rods ( look for bluish color) and the rods didnt have much play.

its a crap shoot though, I wouldnt risk that on a high $$$ engine.
