how to lighten the feel of my x metal pole? [B]May entertain trades[/B]

the ski i got came with an xmetal pole. it is HEAVY with no springs, is there a spring setup for these? i tightened the bolts down to where they would almost hold the pole but then it was like trying to lift a brick when you had to move it. any ideas?

It takes a few rides (and back workout) to get used to it, though.

dude it was just as bad holding that chunk of steel without them tightened. i dont even remember you riding my ski? i do remember you drinking ALOT LOL or was that my cousin.

I have been running a semi stiff pole setup for a couple rides now, with a good spring to keep some lift on it, it doesn't want to creep down much, and I do like the fact it stays where you leave it. I don't feel like I always have to be pulling up on it.

I'm sure you could probably rig up a stock spring to work with some slight modifications.

Now that I'm used to mine, any other set-up just doesn't feel comfortable.

I would probbably trade it for a CF pole. or another that can utilize a spring. but i think i can sell it for a good penny and buy a stocker for $75 and shorten it like my last one.

Your not cranking hard enough. The poles not heavy if you dont half to move it. It will hold itself up. supper stiffie for me. I'v littearly red loc-tight the thread and torque them with my body weight. and after a few rides it time to do it all over again. My opinion is that you can never have it to tight. It'll move if you make it, but otherwise its going to hold strong where you leave it. :Banane09:

tight poles save your back and keep you from getting sore tired arms. on my stock pole i cut the poly bushings off flush and use metal washers. steel on steel baby! my shiat is tight.

There is a joke with the STL crew.... Use a playground ball wedged under the pole. Then when you mess up and push the pole down too far it comes shooting out and hits you in the junk. :thumbsdown:
