Did you contact John about the issue? I am sure he would take care of any issues you may be having.

I did not. I'm sure he would take care of it by either repairing or replacing with another refurb, I just didn't have the time/patience to deal with it. I should have done it right the first time. Nothing against JSS, just wanted to share my experience and possibly save someone some time and frustration. I have multiple other JSS items that I am very pleased with and am still running. Coil, battery cables, stator etc.
Also, I wouldn't call someone months later with problems. I should have called immediately upon receiving the switch and told him what was up. I just took it as a lesson learned and ran it.
My JSS switch rebuild cost me $75 plus my original switch and shipping, and brand new is $108. I see OEM switches still working on 10 year old boats. If I can get 4-5 seasons out of a brand new one that's money well spent IMO.
Also it's worth mentioning that my refurb'd switch looked rough as hell. That's to be expected though with anything refurbed so I wouldn't complain. For the price difference I would rather have the minty new switch on my new ski than one that obviously looks 10 years old with new wires.
