The issue with 2500 bitrate is broadband connection speeds and web hosting performance. The reason I think he needed to go 2500 was he shot the video without a tripod. Although it was very steady for hand shot it needed the extra bitrate to make it look good.flash is the way...learn those flash encoders, they will love you forever...:biggrin:
all of my stuff is run at the 2500 bitrate, yes it bogs a little but like rasper said if you let it do its thing first then you are good...(patience is a virtue)...
dj how is your comp set up? do you run all of your video stuff from scratch discs (external hard drives or raid)? if not this might help...
I usually use 1600 bitrate for 640X480. You can tell it's not perfect but it's a long way from Youtube. I give my riding buddies DVDs anyway.
I was playing with JW FLV player that I use to put it on the web today:

I upped the number of seconds it buffers at the start from the default of three to ten just now. That should help.
Youtube video is almost easy. Good video is hard!
