Thanks for bringing this post back...

I do not ride Saltwater, however my lake likes to leave spots on our nice billet cylinders.

It comes off with tile / shower clean, but would be nice to prevent it all together from the start!

I was warned not to use WD40 in the engine compartment because it apparently dries out rubber parts over time, Although Ive been using WD40 on my dirt bikes and other stuff for years. Has anyone here experienced any problems from using WD40 over time?

I use Salt away after every ride in the Ocean:

They have cool kits:

I also keep my engines generously sprayed with Fluid Film at all times:

This is a video that I hope it helps to show what to do:

Best thing is to install an exit valve on your ski, that way you can also wash and rinse the engine bay thoroughly. Using the bilge pump always leaves water behind.

how many people fog their engines? Do you think it's necessary if you ride once a week / or twice every 3 weeks? What's a good cheap fogging spray to use? I ride exclusively salt water.

YES , Im surprised this thread went as long as it did without fogging spray mentioned .I spray it down the carbs before hitting the road while leaving the beach . Years ago I had a 550 loose spark at the beach .By the time I got home 3 hrs later the crank has rusted to the point of seizing . Motor was not full of water , just a little splash was alll it took.
