Its good to see "FlightRisk" chiming in since this is on his ski that we are working on. I think I have enough ideas now I can figure it out. Now just wondering if its worth it?? Will it pretty much limit your higher speeds when trying to chase down boat wakes, since it might get a little lose?

-3 slant cut on the one on my page worked great. much better when trying to bring the nose around, turns better, and no real change when chasing boats down. only noticed a slight change when the water is smooth as glass but still well worth it.

X2! that does look great. And I bet it makes a world of differance right WATTY...?

It feels really good, I've been up down and all over this thing making sure everything is in the right place, and hopefully I have it covered! I think it will work well. The areas at the sides have cutouts so you don't get rubbing on the legs, but I'm sure it will anyway.

It's a lot of work, but it's worth it. The hardest part is getting the strength into the sides once you take out the inner part of the gunwales.

I cut the flange off the exhaust tube, ran it square with the hull and cut a new hole lower, tacked and tigged the flange back on. In the engine bay side, I run 2 x 45 deg silicone bends to kick the tube up again to stop any water that may flow back.

Were you able to salvage your footholds or did you carve them out of 2 part?

Nevermind... just answered my question after looking at the pic....

Turned out pretty good. I'm going to finish grinding everything, clean it all out, run new cooling lines, trim tube, reseal everything tomorrow.

Anyone suggest a place to buy new inserts? I need to replace the ride plate inserts that had to be cut out. McMaster Carr?

My home away from home.
On the inserts I just went to local hardware store and picked up some stainless nuts, washers and cabosil'd them in solid. SN ride plate though.

Kind of a crappy pic. I bolted the plate in and cabosol'd over the nuts, then sanded them clean after. The pic is a pre-sanded pic.
