Friday the 17th wind swell begins to pick up as short wave lows start to emerge over Northern and Central California. Onshore winds should begin to increase a bit, mucking up conditions a little bit. Wave heights are looking to be head high+ from 300-310 degrees at west facing beaches. South facing spots will continue to see southern hemi swell around waist to chest high. The weather will be cooling off a bit as well, as clouds return with the onshore flow.

Saturday the 18th mixed swell picks up from the NW with wave heights head high+. Periods will continue to be around 11 seconds from an angle of 300-310 produced by tightening gradients in the Gulf of Alaska. The weather expected to begin returning with marine layer being re-instated and low clouds with possible precipitation closer to the Oregon boarder.

Sunday the 19th could see a mixture of wind swell and a small episode of groundswell being produced by a storm kicking up a little bit of fetch at the western tip of the Aleutian Chain. So far this system is holding true and surf heights should be a overhead along most of the west coast, but majority of what we’ll see in the water will be the short period swell of 12 seconds sticking around.

Sounds like it depends on how tall you are. I hope the surf report guy is 10 ft tall. Waist to stomach high would be about 6ft.

like i said dont trust written surf reports..

santa maria buoy is 5.6ft @ 9seconds right now with 3knots of winds so i can guarantee you its bigger than "waist to stomach" high even if its just windswell..

I don't even care as long as it doesn't R*** or the W*** doesn't B*** (I resufe to even say those four letter words for fear of inciting the conditions.

It's going to be a blast. Really looking forward to seeing you all.
