Fx1 696: I noticed that you said that you bought resin and hardener. Curious did you end up using polyester resin instead of epoxy? I would have used epoxy like others have stated. Polyester is the only thing you can use if you want to gelcoat for your final finish. If you are using paint, use epoxy. For paint, personally I really like Valspar oil enamel with hardener.

There are also a lot of topside paints out there, but I haven't used them and I would try it first with the Valspar hardener because Rustoleum products take too long to cure in my experience:

This Winter when you flip your ski upside down to finish sanding it and paint it, I suggest that you sand the woving down to the paint. I would be surprised if that woving will adhere to the paint well.

Not yet, I wanted to ensure the repair held up first. Now I'm listing the ski for sale, but if it doesn't sell I'll paint it over winter.

I found a way to circumvent it. But it is time consuming. If you find a thread, copy the "Topic" part and go to the search and paste it. then search until you find the thread. The threads are there, just the links are there.
