Freestyle Hurricane Hood Strap Option

Yes on getting it out of the tray. Also lets you use two hands and is much quicker to get the hood on and off. I used the stock strap from the clinic on it, just cut it to length, looped it around the ratchet etc... I can get more detailed pics if anyone is interested. I just like it because it's fast and easy. Works like a maniac strap. Also in the vid you can see how it pulls the hood down better.

I'm thinking about doing this on my ski cause I've hit my ratchet once or twice on failed sturf stance tricks, might not matter though cause the aqua bot has a recessed part for the hood latch

You get really good at working the ratchet in the stock position. I hated it at first and it used to take me forever to get the hood off, but now I can take it off in seconds. Like literally three seconds. Every time. So just an FYI for guys wanting to hate on the ski clinic lol. Obviously this way works really well too.

Thanks for the viddy J ! great option ,though i personally haven't any run ins with the ratchet in my tray .but this is another great location you've pointed out for the strap .was chasing the big boat yesterday with some ridiculously hard landings ratchet strap and hood hanging tough ,confidence inspiring .must admit it makes me a bit nervous to throw big moves in deep water, but at least i can pretty much rule out the hood coming off failure thanks to their ratchet system.also saved me when my mounts failed and the engine shifted letting the f/a hit my hood liner ,it wasn't able to dislodge the hood ,a conventional oem clasp i don't think would have stayed closed. Takes a minute to get used to the ratchet function ,but wouldn't change it for another system ,Love this hull ,it just keeps getting better and better.....

Thanks for the pic Brian ! this is how i had my last two boat set up ,it worked good. but if i had a choice between the two designs i would use the ratchet .one thing that Jays location may have changed for the better (besides its safe location) is the way it looks to distributes down force on the hood ,by relocating the tension from the strap from the top .i wonder if this helps distribute load on the hood a little more evenly by centering the ratchet on top .one thing i did notice is by having the ratchet in the tray i tends to put down force on the back of the hood a little more than say the middle or front .
