Custom/Hybrid Hurricane Ride report

I had a chance to ride the new Hurricane yesterday.

The boat is setup for flatwater with a very tite pole and steering, which made it a little difficult for me to ride at the end of the day and not being used to that style.

I rode the Hurricane with the ss850, This ski turns on a dime and did not slide out at all. I rode it in Surf stance and it was a real fun boat to ride.
I expect to ride it again within the next couple of weeks.
Riding that ski made it clear to me "I need to build a flatwater boat".

I did not attempt any flatwater tricks, I was Stoked with the way it handled.
Very light very reactive and fun to ride.

Not sure what the FR has to do with the ride report on a Hurricane but ok.
I had my Footrocket built for surf and chasing boats, and it is doing its job very well.
Originally I was thinking of bigger pump and motor for my Footrocket, but now I am sure I want two boats for two differant types of riding.

I feel that's the way to go too man. I'm finishing up my fixed steer for surf and building up an am hull this year. And hopefully get the new ss true performance motor. The hurricane sounds like a new generation for the ski clinic. I think tpains was like 46 lbs or something

I hear that, I have a superfreak that I picked up used last year. I prettied it all up with new paint and turf, now thinking about building a beater ski for surf. But it probably wouldn't ever get ridden. I think my answer may be, to put tubbies on my old RN that is now my wifes ski. Does the hurricane have a different bottom deck than gen 3?

I also rode the hurricane but with the xs 1200. I couldnt get in the holds but could tell the hull is definately an improvement from the g3. I need to ivest in wrestling shoes. Derrick was flipping thar thing from nothing and actually getting it up . Watching that dude ride is,like poetry in motion....

How do you think in handles compared to a freak BA or circus? Any thing similar?
Maybe this will be another cheaper alternative to a freak....

i heard him say something about $9500... not sure though. could be wrong

$9500 is incorrect. The Hurricane will be a higher price point than our standard budget hulls as we are using top of the line fabrics and resins for assembly, which bumps our initial cost, however it will still be below the price of some of the other popular hulls on the market.

When do you expect to have a price?

Just put in an order for a hurricane 900 rtr! Never rode it but I know the crew at the ski clinic doesn't mess around. With the caliber of riders working there and the fact derrick has taken over building hulls i know i cant go wrong. Can't wait for world finals this year! BraaaaaaP

Gotta pay to play with the big boys. Not going to win on some cheap ass ski with no r&d. But as the description reads, pro level hull so its definitely not for everyone.
Not to mention those prices are wrong, reading skills are key

the savage brought his hurricane 1200 over to me so i could ride it, but luckily for me i was heading out on my own boat, so i had to pass. i'm glad i passed. getting on a boat that currently has the baddest motor on the planet in it, riding it and then getting back on your lesser boat, would suck a$$! i would be spitting all over my own best equiptment.
