Super Jet Hydroturf Help !!

Let the glue dry on the hull and the turf to the point you think it wont stick. Dry fit first before any glue, use a heat gun to stretch it to fit nice. Tape off your edges on the body before brushing any glue. Use thin coats. Make sure the glue is dry before putting on a second coat. Have a friend hold the other end for you when you are sticking it down cause once it sticks it's stuck.

Grab a box of waxed paper from the kitchen and use it to keep the pad/turf from sticking (tray bottom) to each other allowing time for alignment. Some guys like to use dowels, but the wax paper works much better.

Don't be afraid to use padding. Especially in and around the footholds. And you can use rough sandpaper (50-80 grid) to sculpt and shape the padding. And if you want to add pad where you think it might need it,don't hesitate glue some down.

What Brian_216 said is very important ! if it says 20 min between coats then do it.ln the summer that is plenty of time for the glue to dry.

Hope that helps ya

Use a heat gun to make the contact cement dry faster (takes 30s versus waiting 10+ minutes). Sand/clean the hull with acetone to make sure good bonding, you only need one layer of glue on the hull, and most of the time only one layer on the turf unless it looks like it got absorbed.

Harbor Freight heat gun works great and is like $8.99 with a coupon. Look around and sometimes you will find a coupon for free leather gloves too! You need them, cures alot of frustration!

I like the WeldWood gel myself.

Also, the foam brushes are much cheaper at H freight too.

Adding more coats is a waste of glue, and using a heat gun makes the glue dry faster without harming performance. If you're paranoid about the turf coming up on the seams then use superglue on the seams.

Sano's on the money, once it starts to tack up another coat or two is not a bad idea...its all about coverage surface area....multiple coats increases this dramatically even if you cant see it.
