HYDROTURF WONT STICK

I completely agree with Big Kakuna's original post and then WB1994's point on 2 layers of glue on each surface before sticking back together.
They both already said it, but I'll stress these points again:
1. I apply a light coat on each surface (after you've sanded each surface and cleaned with acetone). Then, allow both sides to COMPLETELY dry. This means being able to put your fingers on both surfaces and have it not be all gooey. If you have globs of goo, it could mess it up. Once both sides are dry, repeat applying the contact cement (a thin coat). Let dry. Then apply. When applying on the bond rails, work from the top down to the sides.
2. When cutting the excess turf on the sides, you need to think of the water flow and force on your rails. You need to decrease as much surface area as possible for water to grab onto. Therefore, cutting the turf at an angle instead of 90° is integral to this job and many people don't do this. Use a sharp razor blade to cut and it'll go so smooth and easy.
Enjoy!

I kinda understand what youre saying. But youre telling me to let contact cement completley dry before putting the 2 surfaces togather? That sounds a little redundant to me.

Yes, that's what I'm saying.
1. Light coat on turf. Let dry
2. Light coat on rails. Let dry
3. Light coat on turf. Let dry
4. Light coat on rails. Let dry
5. Stick together

Believe it or not as soon as you touch them they are stuck. May sound redundant but thats how the stuff works.

Its may seem redundant to coat each side twice but it really does make a difference when you build up a couple layers. If the contact cement isnt dry and applied to both the turf and rails, you will end up right where you are now.

If you do not let them dry and apply when wet, the turf will never stay stuck.
The idea 8s that contact cement does exactly as its name imply. It bonds once contact is made. This only works when both surfaces are coated and dried.

I know on superjets, there is a small lip where the bottom deck rail hangs down a bit past where the top deck rail ends, grinding that off to where both pieces are flush helps keep turf on also.
