So after blowing my engine, I found this site looking for some new mods. I came across Austin's Winter X2 build. So I got up from my computer and went to the garage to begin a 8 month project. I cut 3" off the rear of the ski. Moved the steering back 5 + inches. And made room under the seat to house a smaller battery. I had to cut a little glass out, but a standard motorcycle battery fits, and works fine. This helps reduce weight and shift it towards the rear, because X2's are too front heavy. Moving the steering back allows the rider to stand up straighter, thus also eliminating weight off he front, plus a more comfortable ride. I will add bar risers later to get the steering back even more. You can shave about 60 lbs in misc. parts and fiberglass, the battery looses about 7, and another 5 if you don't run a fire extinguisher, and 10+ more lbs by running a smaller fuel tank. This ski will end up 80 lbs less than stock.

So you can see the battery size differece, -7lbs, and how I routed the cables. I cut out the hood scoop and gas filler, and foamed it in.

Cut and rolled some pieces of aluminum to give some lip on the rear deck. Wish I would have glassed these on rather than riveted, although I smeared tons of silicone behind the plate and in the rivet holes first.

Had my friend play around with some computer graphic ideas. We decided to call the ski hypnotic because when you looked at the full sheet of turf you almost became dizzy and it definately gave you a headache, like looking at one of those 3d pictures where you cross your eyes or whatever.

Add a trim lever. Remove Steering nozzle. Add a new bored out pump nozzel, blowsion freestyle pump cone, skat track prop, (still playing with pitch) top loader intake (will be here tomarrow). Flip the trim nozzel, and cut away plastic where it hits to allow for more throw. Add a lever, and bicycle cable. Remove stock trim cable and round nut. Replace with stud. Drill hole in stud to feed cable end through. put a L bracket on rear bolt of pump mount to hold cable in place. More pictures to come later of custom made bracket. Use a super light weight spring only to keep tension out of the water. Route cable through opening in fire wall.
