I am getting shocked

I had this problem once before but I never posted it. I own a 1991 SN SJ with a b-pipe and msd enhancer and more upgrades. When I turn on my bilge pump, I am getting a small shock when I touch the throttle. I once had this problem before I had the pump, where I was just getting shocked by touching the throttle. I am 90% sure it is the ground wire in the E-box. Thoughts? That was my problem last time. OH, I also get shocked just by sitting in the tray. Not fun. LOL. Wanted opinion before I unscrew the E-box.

I would first look for any hot wires that have a cut in them in the engine area, including your bilge. Unplug your bilge and take your ski for a quick spin and see if the problem is solved. I wouldnt think the problem is in your E-Box, but a hot wire in your engine compartment is cut. When water gets on it it energizes your pole and goes out your metal finger throttle.

Will do. I know this much. With the pump on, while riding I get shocked. When it is turned off, while riding, it is fine. This is continuous.

Bad ground for the bilge. You are becoming the ground since a ground wire is broke or making a bad connection somewhere.

Getting shocked sucks, especially in salt water.

IMO you cannot have too much ground!!! Your bilge lack o ground IS what is shocking you-been there and done that.

Oh yeah, green corroded grounds do not count. lol

Probably the hot wire after switch has a cut in it. salt water is a great conductor lol
