Been riding blasters for 9 years and love them...but time to try a different challenge....yesterday bought a 2001 SJ...it is stock except for an I prop, worx grate, UMI steering plate and trigger, bar and renthal grips...

I don't know what your plans are for setup, but I'm running that same prop on my stock 701 square. A lot of people thing the impeller pitch is a little steep for a stock motor setup. I sent mine to Impros and had it repitched to what they recommended for a stock to Limited type setup (pipe, head, etc.). They ended up repitching it to 13/16 and also did a -3mm cut to the inner part of the hub to set it back in the pump a little.

This is something you might want to consider if you're looking for a cheap alternative to buying a more expensive swirl or concord type impeller. It really helped give the ski a more snappy feel and it still has decent top speed as well.

thx...a friend is running the Impros hooker w/ tbm super pump cone and loves it....

That is undoubtedly a far superior set up than a stock pump setup with a repitched 'I' series impeller. But it's also about 7 times the price. I'm not sure of your budget for mods, but repitching the impeller you have for around $80 is a pretty cheap upgrade with noticeable results.
