BUT now it will not start. :crutches:

Can someone tell me what the four wires coming from the pole should ohm? The red and black wires have continuity all the time and the white and brown have none. I think I may have done something with the switch pulling it out.

Thanks for any help.

2 of the wires are your start switch and 2 are your stop.

If you tell us what type of ski, we might be able to help further.

On the pole side or the ebox side?

For future reference, you don't have to remove the pole or wires/cables to shorten it.
(if you have a RN)

I've damaged the small spade connectors in the plug, causing them not to make contact.

Disconnect the two connections near the e-box. with the Yamaha lanyard removed, the white and black should have continuity. The Red and Brown wires should not have continuity.

With the lanyard in place the White and Black should be open and have continuity only when the stop button is depressed or lanyard removed.

With the lanyard in place, Red and Brown should have continuity only when Start button is depressed.

The ski is my 96 SJ. Yes I removed all the wires before shortening the pole. I was trying to take them from the top down, because my wire were zip tied behind the tank. I eventually just moved the tank and cut the ties.

Shifty's post should allow me to test everything I need.

Thanks

Thanks for the help guys. I did not really do anything. After I pulled it apart everything checked out. Once I put it back together it worked fine.
