It's just that guy has more talent in his left pinky than I do, and he's a hell of a guy on top of that. Long story short, Ratti called me Saturday afternoon and said he was heading to town and wanted to get together. Although it was my weekend with my girls and my Mom was also in town, we were able to hang out a little Saturday night and then I got to show him my ride spot and my Mom and my girls got to hang out in the "Kiddie Pool" area of St, Andrews State Park on the beach. Although he had a ski with him, it wasn't Team Scream powered, so I offered mine to him as I always do. He said he probably wouldn't do any flatwater stuff, but that was BS because within two or three minutes he was busting out some barrel rolls in the wind-chopped pass.
Later we rode out in front of Shell Island and the Surf Gods were with Ratti. Mostly clean and head-high with crystal clear emerald green and blue water. We both rode the surf for awhile and then Ratti requested my ski again to do some rolls. While I am fully aware of his capabilities, I rarely have the opportunity to ride with him. Riding with him and watching him SKY some massive rolls was the icing on the cake for my weekend. We had to get back to my girls and my Mom soon, so I rode by him and let him know. He told me three more rolls and we'll head back and then proceeded to launch three of the most amplified no-handed barrel rolls I've ever witnessed from twenty feet away. Simply awesome, awesome weekend!!! :wiggle:
We flushed Ratti's ski at my house and he asked about a good restaurant to eat at. As I was giving him directions, my oldest little girl walked out of the house and I asked her if she wanted to eat at Dockhoppers. She got all excited and then told me she and her sister had already taken thier baths to get rid of the saltwater. I told her that was fine and to go get their bathing suits on. We rode over to Dockhoppers, ate poolside, listened to the band, and watched the forklift from the Marina move the boats around. Afterwards we said our goodbyes and he drove back to Georgia and I took my little girls back to their Mom's house.
Mike and Amy, it was a blast hanging out with you two and we'll do it again, soon. Thanks for hanging out and keep your eyes out for the PoPo's at the Dolphin Drive dock.
