I was waiting for that... the power difference doesn't warrant a 100 mile drive both ways x2.
Well if Art can't help you, what makes you think any of us boneheads can? :starwars:

Think about it:
That's the difference between a pro tuning a boat, and a bunch of knuckleheads on an Internet message board e-tuning a boat.
There's more to it than just matching carb and pipe settings.
The head pipe settings don't always transfer 1:1 to the next head pipe (casting differences?)
I am sure Art didn't just look at some chart to set the screws - he probably tuned it.
You say the only difference is that Art tuned his boat.
It seems clear what's missing then. Right?
Edit: I am the biggest knucklehead of all of them. But I won't pretend to know what a pro like Art knows. Essentially you're asking to duplicate his work, without the charge. (I don't blame you)
Just remember, you get what you pay for.
The answer is clear to me, they are not as similar as you think. The limited chamber is much different than the mod, and pump tuning is a whole other ballgame. An example is my brothers boat, same pipe, different cylinders, different props, although they are both good they are a bit different on power delivery and how they rev out. That Hooker probably loads the motor hard from start to finish, and the Solas may momentarily spin allowing the rpm to come up then "BAM". Personally I think the setups are close at best.I have been talking to Art at jetworks about this, but I just thought I'd write a post to see what you all thought also.
Bluegtate and I have practically identical setups with the exception that he has V Force II's reeds and I have V Force I's. He also has a limited chamber while I have a mod. Other than that, identical setups. He has a 13/16 solas 3mm cutback while I have the new 9/15 hooker prop, which should have better bottom end than the solas.
Bluegtate got his ski power tunned at Jetworks, and I have tried to match his setup exactly, but no matter what I do, his has that more brap on the bottom end compared to mine. Trying to figure it out. Bluegtate's is the hardest hitting stock 701 I have ridden.
62t Cases, 61x cylinder
Riva Single carb conversion manifolds
46 blackjack carb
B pipe
175lbs compression
MSD enhancer
Flow control valve
Light flywheel
I'm trying to figure out whether maybe my reeds are just worn out, as I have read the VF I's commonly do, or maybe my engine is just tired and needs a rebuild, at least a top end rebuild.
i would try and cheat (swap carbs) when geoff isnt looking

You should just take it to Jetworks like he did
If there was someone within 100 miles of me like Art to powertune my boat in the water, I would be there as we speak. That would be worth $300 bucks to me, just to make sure I was spot on.
its amazing how much better a boat can respond with new N/S. Also test both pop offs and get them as close as possible.
