Good eye, those are tiny fuel filters, I'd change over to the bigger round paper style most people run $6. Also never seen a/m carbs mounted in that orientation, idk if that would matter. It be cleaner mounted the other way, so you could mount the hoses to side wall. Also I wouldn't run that cheap colored hose, its known to leak, causes issues. Switch over to the OEM style hose from jetmaniac.

This is the fuel line and filter I would switch too. Best to fix everything right, so your not fighting multiple issues.

Cool, php should be able to handle it

Im pretty sure the carb dosen care if they have pump facing the engine or the hull side :)
Regarding the fuel filters, ive always ran small fuel filters that Jetmaniac sells. :) Never had an issue :)
But i do second the fuel line, i had issues in the past with the fluorescent fuel line. OEM or OEM style fra Jetmaniac is the only way to go IMO.
Hope the issue get solved fast :)

Look where a Novi dumps its fuel. If you look at the latest FS carb, you will realise the difference

I’m sure PHP will get it squared away. I appreciate everyone’s pointers to help get this xs1000 kicking. It’s my buddies ski that I was trying to get squared away for him but have very little time to do so. Especially when I haven’t even had time to start my 1100 havoc build.
Here is a clip PHP on Saturday at the Watcon surf ride. Video from Sean S

Novi dumps all fuel down jet side, fuel on top of fuel, killing atomization. With pumps in, the big fuel drops run down back of manifold. FS have moved the booster further out so HS fuel can go down other side of throttle shaft.

Curious:

On the stock cylinders the 62t casting has a larger port opening than a 61x cylinder.

As far as I know all of the aftermarket pipes are matched to the smaller 61x port opening.

On these big billet motors, do they use the 61x sized port? Seems like as the actual exhaust port in the cylinder wall gets bigger for the bigger motor you'd want the rest of the port to get bigger too, but they it won't match any of the commonly available exhaust manifolds (?)

So little update, looked at the ski with Zach from PHP and found this little issue causing my problem.

Worst manifold port match ever!

I still don't see what difference it should make, the booster works via pressure differential, as far as i know?
Even if it was the case, why would it matter how the carbs were mounted on the manifold?

If you have pumps out, the heavy fuel drops have a chance to mix with clean air from other side of butterfly, giving a more homogenous mix

That bracket can be bought from Hotproducts. Lets you use any manifold no matter where the built in bracket is located. Or any kind of carb on any manifold.

What if you mount the carbs in a perpendicular orientation rather than inline. Would that make it forward or backwards? Or would it be sideways?
