There are alot of nice RN RTR boat out there for 2500-3500. I was lucky and got 4800 for mine. I would think you hull is worth 1500 +/-. I am also in the same deal looking for a AM hull. I have the cash and sitting waiting for the right deal. I have talked with building a New SF and am on the fence with cost.

The SJ market in general has dropped and it looks bad now because its the end of the season, it may stablize some in spring.

The changing value of SJ hulls can't be helped. IMO you'll be lucky to get $2k for it.
It might be a good idea to save up some cash and be ready for a used deal when it pops up. I think you might be able to snag a used Freak for about 6k in the next year or so if you're ready with the money. Or a used carbon BOB for less.

I agree with Matt here! Save up for what you want, I know the delayed gratification isn't there, but if you build up cash in hand and a decent deal on what you want comes by then you will be much better off than going half-way with a project or getting something better but not what you want. I have learned those costly lessons time and time again. And on top of it: a great deal ALWAYS, ALWAYS comes around right after you tie up money on something you arent in love with. I am saving up money for the motor that I want for my already dream ski and I will continue to make due with what I have until either the right deal or the right price comes around, but until then my funds for my hobby/obsession will remain liquid. BTW my fiancee want bigger ( . ) ( . ) too. and I said go for it! thats the gift that keeps on giving!

Oh as an addendum to the last post, I know there are a few used freaks out there now, and thats great for you guys! I paid full fare for mine, but they are worth every penny you put into them whether it be new or used.

I know it sucks about the delayed gratification, but let me tell you when I bought mine I paid tem in full and still had the 12 week waiting period for him to get to me. the 12 weeks turned into 14 and change. The waiting period after you paid in full sucked 10X worse, and on top of it the water and weather kept getting warmer and warmer and Wavedaze kept getting closer and closer. No matter how bad it was it was the best investment in this hobby I have ever made

Well I am stoked! The wife wants me to save for the sf, for all the reasons listed above. So time for me to start saving. After I get my truck back on the road.. Sore subject there.

And on a sj note, I have seen a hull or two for sale pushing the $2000 mark. And they aren't modded up that much either. I'm trying to get $2000 for mine, but we'll see how that goes. I put it up on CL and have had a lot of interest, but nobody has the cash. I'll put it up here tonight.

Or will they sell for that also. I'll squeeze what I can out of it. But with the occasional BOB and others coming up for sale for 1 to 2 thousand more, it's a tough market for the roundies. I'm hoping all the extra crap that comes with mine will help the price a bit. I love the way that hull rides compared to stocker. It's so much more fun.

The prices for 2 strokes in Vegas will be a joke when the 2 stroke ban takes effect on Lake Mead after next year. All our boats will be worthless. I have heard that some people will survive by driving to Laughlin (100 miles each way) or Lake Havasu (150 miles each way) to ride every week. I cant see myself driving 200 or 300 miles just to ride every single week. I guess we will all just have these 7 foot long paper weights in our garage. Anyway, hull prices should really hit rock bottom then...
