I have a few posts on here, basically I want to make the jump from occasional sit down rider to very frequent Standup rider.

My question is how would this be for my first ski? I'm not worried too much about an upgrade path, because after I learn on it, I'll just buy something bigger.

Just all I've been hearing is "get a superjet" which is great, but I can't friggin find any and I'm getting antsy...

ALL comments are appreciated... I'm such a standup newbie its not even funny...

Wow, talk about a clean and stock 650.

IMO, that's too much for it already.

650's are strange to me, I've never felt comfortable on one, the handlepole is HUGE/HEAVY, however, they are definitely mod-able for more power and are more stable than a 550.

I wouldn't pay that much for one though.

Agreed. I paid $500 for my old I used to have. It had a K&N filter, single 44, and some kind of funky exhaust. It was clean too.

They're fun though. Everybody starts somewhere. I'd check your local boattrader first though. Summer time brings out a lot for cheap. Good Luck!

You know, if you can get it for less than $1000.00, ride it and enjoy it. You'll be able to sell it next year for at least $500-700, easily. That's not too much of a price to pay for learning to ride standups. These are actually fun to ride. Especially, since there seems to be a lack of Superjets. I actually like the feel of these better than the 750 SXI Pros.

hmmm thanks for the advice...
I'm in NY, and it really does seem like there is a lack of superjets... I'd love to find a square nose, but I really can't, not even in Jersey where I thought there'd be a ton...

next question is the pole really that heavy?

that square from magoo's is in super sweet condition! it's a lot of ski that you won't have to touch a thing on. just drop it in the water and ride.

i learnt to ride on a 650 as well
but if you do buy it
please dont spend any money on making it go fast
its just money wasted
ride it and wash it put it away
save up for a superjet

way to get a 650 to handle was to buy a superjet
other than that you needed a jetdynamics ride plate
i Wonder how they would go with tubbies on them

Tubbies for everything

fyi......... the 2 skis on pauls site besides his build up ski are gone....... i had called him about them 2 weeks ago
