I need help finding aluminum supplies

Does anyone ever order aluminum online?
I need a couple pieces of plate aluminum (easily found)
I need some 90 degree bend aluminum tube (or is it pipe?).


I’ve seen some donut pipe on tv before, that would work too.

ive never ordered any but ive looked and there used to be a lot of stock on ebay. go to http://www.mcmaster.com and search aluminum stock, should be able to get everything you need here

For local pickup there is Alro (www.alro.com). Just south of Ulmerton on 49th Street (very close to my work and Tom's shop).

I use Alro all the time. They have a big end cut rack where you can get deals.

What you are looking for is called Square Tube.

I have a aluminum supply wholesaler in my town (PBC) and most large town have the same.

For some odd stuff I just use ebay, especially for aluminum tube. The term "tube" can mean square/rectangle stock or round (pipe) stock...then there is round bar stock (solid). You want pipe.

90 degree aluminum pipe is easily found on ebay because it is often used as custom turbo intercooler pipes. Make sure its mandrel bent (no kinks). I've used 0.0625" wall for exhaust and it more than thick enough.

We have one in town, and I've used them alot. You can order online too. Seem to have good prices, and they'll sell you just what you need instead of having to by a whole sheet or stick like some places. Not sure about their shipping prices.

last time I called the guy told me that if you ask for tubing, they will measure the size by the OD, while for pipe they will measure the ID

If your going to weld those mandrel bends make sure the tubing is thick enough, those polished aluminum intercooler tubes are too thin to work.
