Would that by any chance be the same size as a bow eye insert? Just a suggestion to try. Or buy a regular nut that is the right thread and have someone slice it to make it that thin

try home depot in the electrical section the nits will not be metric and i bet you need metric or you could just cross thread it and never mess with the thing again:ugh2:

i took some weld stick and smashed it tight all around it
no problems for 2-3 years

and it's the same color as my gray turf to boot

Its not Primer size ,its not bow eye size...and dont want to cut a nut in half, and I know if I push on the wrong thread the fuel thingi will fail and i bet i have to tear it off again....where are the guys with the right nuts:wall: ??

you dont have a thread pitch guage? if you do, just check the pitch on the actual selector itself. I bet you could find something in brass or stainless on mcmaster

probably sounds getto to all of you guys over here but mine kept breakin also........... went through two of them last season alone and i ended up using a cast aluminum washer screw that is used for electrical boxes. (Home Depot) didnt fit the size so i cut it with a pare of snips and opend it up a little and it fit perfect. painted it black so it didnt stand out and havent had to deal with that anymore.......i knwo its kinda getto but the plastic stuff kept breackin on me......

i have never had one break... what are you guys doing when they break?

i just use the the correct size socket when removing/installing. installs and removes so easily.

and to your question about where do we find stuff like that... we don't. stuff like seems to have to be custom made... i have found that out especially with yamaha's use of the stupid 1.25 thread pitch.

Zombie thread, I know, but ...

I measure the fuel selector on a SN '93 with calipers, believing it to be M20x1.5mm size. Looking for a panel nut of that size... well they exist, even in stainless, but I can't easily find onesy-twosy to buy at all kinds of industrial or electrical suppliers. You can search amzn for "m20x1.5 nut" and find these cable connecting waterproof widgets with that nut; 10 for like $7 when I looked. Plastic. Keep the nut, scrap the rest of the assembly. If I find a way to buy them in stainless (after confirming the size), for say $2 each for some reasonable quantity, I might get a bunch and post back that they are available.
