I wanna race!

So I have a 14 super jet. Im bolting on a protec head and pipe. Also has a jet dynamics intake grate, stock prop, tbm ride plate. I also have some blowsion front sponsons the ones made for the 08 hull. What is a good first class to run. obviously cant run a stock class.

first question should I put on the tubbies? I rode my friends 14 with them and it almost made it not turn as good but the placement could have been bad.

also whats a cost to expect. Im used to racing motocross. and you are about 100 bucks after gate fee, club sign up fee, then $40 per class fee. I have a 20 foot toy hauler also can I bring it to the lake and park it to camp and pit out of?

And Im in idaho so havasu is 14 hours away...

The ijsba lists what specs you can have in each class. Stay in the lowest class your boat allows.

New sponsons bolt on which make them easy to remove if you do not like them. Yhat makes it a budget question.

You can run limited class with your ski.

Sponsons are optional. Just depends on the rider. I've found that they make the Superjet too aggressive in the corners, but that's just me. Everyone will have different thoughts on it.

Check out region 2 and 3 for races. They are closer to you than Havasu.

I suggest getting an intake grate, ride plate, and flexible tow loop if you plan to race.

Shoot me a pm if you need to get setup with those parts or have anymore questions.

You are in Idaho, come to some of out region 3 races coming up in June , July, and August. We have several people from Idaho that make it to our races and area always looking for more.

Message me if you have questions, i can get you headed in the right direction as far as region 3 info.

Lastly, if it were my ski, id pull the pipe and head back off and ride the piss out of it in stock/lites class

^^Yea run stock class. If you bolt those mods on you have to race limited, and then you will be at a disadvantage unless you go full limited which will be a ton more mods.

Unfortunately nobody rides limited class in all reality. Stock or full open/GP/Triple/whatever. If you get real good though, being from MX you probably will, a solid setup with a pipe will be competitive with most guys. MXr's and BMXr's make better jetski racers on average. I will say power makes more difference in jetskis than in MX.

Check the racing organizations - most allow wetpipe on a Superjet in Stock.

I cant find the region list of races on the ijsba site. There was a race in st george ut last year. Is there one there again? st george is about 8 hours away from south east idaho. There used to be races in idaho back in the 90's. Jet dynamics is in burley which is like 2 hours from me.

There is a group of people in the Twin Falls area that practices at Wilson lake regularly. They usually come to all the washington races and the reno national tour stop

Here is a list of things going on in the Northwest. We usually do all of our event talk and planning on Facebook in the Northwest Jetsports group.

The ijsba pretty much makes you buy an Advent ignition instead of a/M exhaust in pro watercross to be competitive in stock class. So cost wise it's no different

If it's a surf race anything can happen and the level of mods to be competitive in open class changes drastically, even stock skis can pull top spots
