Where are you guys mounting your hood strap ratchet when your keeping the oem hood latch?? Pics?

I don't think anybody does the latch and the strap.
Common options:
A) Hood straps and latch

I stand corrected. I guess a few people do it. But honestly I have never had a problem with using just the brap strap.

I have both on my bob, the latch winds up NOT doing anything as far as locking the hood down, BUT does keep the side to side motion out. I mounted the ratchet in the tray on the dash. I have pics but I'm on my phone and for the life of me can't figure out how to post pics from it.

Yeah I noticed the stock latch on my SN does little to nothing to compress the front part of the hood down. Thats partially due to the hazard bracket I installed, the hooks he added to hold down the SN hood need some modifying, but its installed already.
After scanning jetmaniac's thread the only option I saw was using 2 ratchets and mount them at the front of hood but that seems like a major PIA.
Or keep ratchet for later use and install two plastic buckles on either side of latch. I have until sat to come up with a solution.

hmm... what seal do you have on your hood? i just put on a surf seal and there is so much pressure on the front of the hood it is a PITA to get the hood on/off. I have only been running the stock latch, but havent had the chance to get and big waves yet either. This weekend at torch i will be running a ratchet strap as well.

Get a photobucket account+the photobucket app... e-mail the photos to yourself.. upload using your phone to imgur.. hook your phone to your PC with a USB cable and transfer that way.. (there are literally thousands of options)

I got a fancy smancy photobucket. But to open a mother page and copy the img code isn't worth it. I pmed the OP and text him a picture lol. It's just not worth it on my phone. I can do it on my computer no problem

Just stuck on a new watcon seal. Needed it done and surf seal was taking a lil longer to get- emails n such.
But I'm running a hazard bracket with an RN pole on my square and the way he fabricated the two hooks on the pole mount to hold the front of hood down are a bit tall. If I realized this before all was installed I would have modified them. I banged on em with a chisel but dont want to crack the hull. With lower/shorter hooks the front hood would have more downforce. Hopefully the brap strap will help out.
