Cool. You could be hated by both surfers and jetskiers. (And spend a ton of money doing so!)

I know right. I would NEVER use this in a surfing line up. I grew up a surfer and have mad respect for it, hands down. But again that looks like a lot of fun. Registering a hull is sometimes a P.I.T.A, wonder how this would fly at the DMV when trying to register :)

You can do this without breaking the bank. Can't remember the name, this one is kinda gutless, but with a little $$$ engineering I bet it could be made to fly.

Lol that's not me btw...

Dam thing looks like its flyin!

(but not for $12 grand)
When people ask how much the skis are on my trailer they look at me like i have three heads. Its pricey but most things are.

What i dig is the places youd be able to access with this thing opens doors to where getting s ski is almost impossible.

That thing looks Bad A$$! I think that the makers are just beginning to tap the potential that it offers. Its not a jetski and can't compete with one, nor was it meant too. It is what it is, a powered surf board.

Because the surfers would have mad envy.

You're looking at it the wrong way. This is being sold as a novelty in most cases. This would be annoying to riders who want to calmly sit in the surf and yawn. It would be annoying to jet skiers trying to race or tube.

Looking at this from another angle, it is small and light enough it would probably work just as good as any other surf board. Imagine if you no longer needed a jet ski to tow you for a drop-in to a huge wave. Imagine if you live in an area with sand bars just off shore that you couldn't otherwise surf. Imagine if you live in an area with cliffs with a sick beach just down the way that you otherwise can't access. Imagine if you have long waves and no longer half to paddle a 1/4 mile out to the surf, so even though you don't surf with the motor, you can now access 3 times as many waves in a day.

Something like this give surfers the ability to get anywhere they want to surf, then shut it down and surf.

Check out this video... How archaic.

Only one problem... How many surfers do you know that have an extra $18-$20k laying around? Instead you are going to get the type of people who have more money than talent that otherwise wouldn't have the ability to get themselves somewhere they shouldn't be.

We saw the same thing in the mountains when the snowmobile companies started making sleds with 800cc+ motors and 151 to 160''+ tracks. Suddenly any idiot with $12K had a machine capable of reaching the top of almost any mountain.

Secret spots were no longer secret and the really hard to reach sweet spots soon became like parking lots.
