I want to apologize to everyone about Mike Young's behavior. I was beside my self and totally embarrassed as you could probably tell from my face during the raffle. This will never ever happen at my event again. He was drunk and totally out of control the entire day. I hope you guys realize I was kinda stuck at that point and I got rid of him it would have turned into a worse situation. My goal is to always evaluate what was good and bad in an event and make the proper changes in order to make the next event better. I will correct this and believe me, It will never happen again!!!!!

I am truly sorry to anyone who was offended. -Nick

[h=5]Mike Youngs apology:

To those riders that attended the 2013 Thrust Innovations,

My name is Mike Young and I was your emcee, or lack there of this past weekend. I hope that you can find it in your heart to accept my most sincere apologies for my profane attitude and lack of professionalism. It is not in my character to behave as irresponsibly as I did, I have had some tough personal issues that I have been dealing with, although that is no excuse. My apologies are to every family, friend, and staff members that I let down. I have reached out for some counseling and if anybody wants to reach to me directly, my info is listed below. My apologies especially go out to the sponsors and Nick as no had influence on my crass actions. This is my 25th year in our industry and I am ashamed of myself for the first time in my life because of my lack of professionalism I wish everyone good health and happiness and again....I am very sorry. Mikey

I heard about it and was glad I ended up not being there with my kids like last year. I appreciate this post and trust it to be family friendly in the future and hope he isn't used again. We need to encourage family participation so our sport has a future.

No doubt. Late nite party it would be no problem. Middle of the day at a public event with kids around....problem. Thanks for being on top of it and always working to make it better.

As a father of two little girls 6 and 9 I was thinking in my head thank god they where at home. As a adult male he was funny and fine by me. My biggest thought was please don't ruin the oppurtunity this sweet resort has given us to be here. Harmless I'm sure but as a rider this year was by far the best yet. Thanks again Nick for sharing your vision of this freeride with us and getting me out of cold Michigan every winter for a great time.

It wasn't just the language. I hope that it isn't ignored, and isn't acceptable in the future, the other things that were going on. We were right in front of the booth, and my fiance was bothered by the constant attempts to get women to try the clothes on. I'm sure it was funny to most, but she was offended by what she felt was excess perversion. I was pretty upset when he kept shouting "Where are all my white people at?"

I personally don't mind swearing, bigotry in the sense of comedy, or some tasteful perversion. My philosophy is that there are few lines not worth crossing for comedy. But we weren't at a night club, or a comedy club. It would have been all peachy at the after party, but we were in a very public setting that should be rated PG.

Again, my feedback is intended to be constructive. I want to make sure it is out there that cursing and the 1-2 F-bombs I heard weren't the only problems.

Edit: I wasn't at the raffle. My comments are in regard the the rest of the day.

Lol. Give him back the mic u drunk as$ fu(er was all I heard when he went to Eric, if u only heard mikes comment. He was so drunk he couldn't twist the cap off a bottle of rum. Didn't bother me but it was dragging the raffle on and on.. Wasn't called for.. Usually. Can put up with him but that was by far the worst...

Ya the raffle was painful. We all drink and have a good time but there is a time and place.

I feel like its always a good indication of how drunk a guy on a mic is by when they start telling people to take their tops off.
And the "where's the white people at?" Turned into where's the "black people at?" That was when it was getting a little over the line. Good thing the only 2 black guys there are in our crew and walked up right up when he asked where they were. You could tell by the look on his face he had no idea why they walked up. Hahhahahah

Sounds like standard freeride material. LOL

I thought I heard about this happening last year, too.
