The mummy wrapped charge coil indicates 62T,- 'cause the connecting wire connects at the top, rather than disappearing under the wraps underneath as 61X.

Gotcha. I’m tracking. I dug through my parts bin and found this one. By what you’re describing, this one is a 61x. Which I confirmed because it matches my 61x flywheel. Thanks for the info.

That's right, post #3 shows a 61X stator. One more thing: turn both over, look at the back: you'll note 3 dimples cast onto the backing plate of the 62T. The 61X does not have that.
Of course you wont need them- if you change to Zeeltronic, inshallah

Just confirmed that I did indeed mistakenly install a 61x stator, not a 62t. So apparently, even though not compatible, it will work with a 62t flywheel. I put about two hours on the ski with no running, starting or charging issues. This is the stator and flywheel I just pulled from my ski.

Are there similar differences that distinguish 61X and 62T flywheels?

There's a difference in timing between the two due to the coils being physically indexed differently but I can't remember off the top of my head which way that combo would put you.
Since it ran decent, I'm going to say you were approx 13 deg advanced vs retarded.
