Ideas for next paint job...

So here is my current ski, a 650sx that I completed with the help of a friend. All stencils were home made.

I think for my next idea I could also use home made stencils. Tell me what you guys think. I want to do a digital camo theme but use reds, whites, silvers and blacks instead. Pixels would have to be enlarged of course, but what do you guys think of the color scheme so far? Bare in mind this is just a 5 min adobe job.

The skulls look a whole lot cooler than a red, black, and white pixel version of camo... Although I do find it kind of funny that your paint job is probably worth more than the whole ski on that 650...lol

How about the same stencils but do a significantly more subtle version of it so that you really only see the skulls in the right light.

I have a friend who is kinda good with an airbrush. He did a bike all skulled up and I think I am going to do one of my skis the same way.

Not bad for free hand.....

That is some nice work on both the ski and that bike. I love people that can do true flames even though flames aren't really my thing. Another question I have is where can I get a ski gel coated and how much does that usually run?

Probably any boat fiberglass repair center will do gel coat. In north Texas I use Harris Fiberglass. Couple years ago I had a Waveblaster done and it was $800 for the hull only. The deck was not gel coated. I currently have my XFT there being done the same way. This one is a trade out so I don't know how much. For him I did about $1000 worth of work.

I think the red digi camo looks awesome. I'm planning on doing my X2 in digital camo. Only I'm doing mine with green, white, black, and grey. If you plan on doing this you should post some pics. I'd love to see how you make the stencils and what not. For mine I was thinking of making each square in the camo about 1in.

I'll definitely post when I get some painting done. I'm gunna play with the sizes on the pixels for a while on cardboard or sumthin. The stencils should be really easy to make since all cuts are straight. I think getting enough random pixel combinations is gunna be the tough part. They have to be complex or it looks more like tetris than the digi camo were used to seeing.

I guess the next step in this process is buying a superjet. Better start lookin! :)

On another note, snow digi camo might look pretty cool too.
