If I could only ride 4x a year!!!!!!????

I would put 15k in the bank and spend 5k on a well modded SJ.

That is :):):):)ing silly!

I took it that he only rides surf 4 times a year...mainly boat wakes it seems.

Ah...gotcha...makes much more sense!

Then I have no idea but OP is on the right track...ride everything before dropping 20k!

I have not ridden one but I dig the KTX and the....oh hell....I dig them all!

I only ride surf 4 times a year, I ride the lake year round via wetsuit.. ha ha ..... My superjet is a blast, just heavy in the lake. I keep spending money on it, and would rather just buy a whole package.. My mind is made up, I am buying one... just need to demo on flatwater friday...

If I had 20k in one lump sum to put into a ski, I'd come to my senses and put it into my mortgage instead of a hole in the water.

But, since we're spending your money here....try out a variety of boats at flatwater Friday and see what hull you like. Most of them will flip easily with the right motor. Go for a carbon hull that suits your riding style. A Freak would be an excellent choice, as would a BOB or a Rickter XFS/XFR. Spend the rest on a mag pump and a motor as big as you can afford while still leaving money for the necessary accessories for that motor (big carbs, total loss, race gas)

Unless you're buying used, 20k won't get you an exceptional flatwater setup. Half of that is likely to go to the hull unless you buy a BOB.

The freak listed for sale above is mine. Go to daytona and ride some hulls. See what fits best. Keep in mind boats will feel different with different motor/ pump setups.
As much as i would love to see you buy mine, i would rather see a rider happy with their purchase. Good luck on you decision.
