I just don't see any realy performance advantage to straight bars and a turn plate. Maybe once I ride a ski with straighter bars I would understand.

go with the Canadian!! but if you have to buy a part quick steer plate and straight bars would compliment your setup nicely and im pretty sure you will see the advantage if you try them
