Freestyle Ignition issue

So I'm running a PHP 898 (240psi) total loss, powerfactor novis, etc..

Had an issue last year where my battery would die very quickly. (Couple hours/10 or so starts). Thought it was just junk battery.

The issue is now a big one. Went for the first ride of the season on a brand new deka battery yesterday and got 2 starts out of it, and even during those 2 starts it barely cranked.

My buddy grabbed his antigravity battery out of his ski (running a very similar set up as me) threw it in my ski, fires right up and went for a rip. Came back in and my buddy asked me if he could take my ski for a spin. He went to start it and it wouldn't hardly roll over again. Got 1 start out of that battery.

Took the battery out of my ski and threw it back in his ski and it worked again no problem the rest of the day. It's no longer a battery issue like I thought.

HELP

Are your cables getting enough amps to the starter and what do you know about this starter ? Brushes in starter worn possibly? Your starting circuit seems to require max voltage/ amps to feed a deficiency in one of these two areas would be my guess. One other thing, Is this msd TL ?

I'm not sure on the cables, I haven't checked anything yet because I didn't know where to even begin, I'm horrible with electronics. Starter was new this season so I don't believe there would be an issue there but can't say for sure. Yes this is an MSD system.

Should be good then. I would check simple stuff first like voltage to starter under a load and add redundant grounds with jumper cables from battery to motor. @augustaf got any other ideas for him ?
I certainly agree, add a (temporary) ground cable from bat. to anywhere on engine and try again. If that does not cure the issue, I'd suspect the positive cabling from bat. to solenoid (relay) and/or solenoid to starter . Since you have MSD t/l, your start relay is prob. exposed and you could jump across it for testing to rule out bad internal contacts there. If you indeed have 240 psi cranking pressure as stated, your starter motor is "stressed to the limit). Are the dip switches set properly on the ECU? There is a start retard function, although I doubt that's your issue.
