Well the stock engine in my FX1 threw a rod a couple of weeks ago. I have a stock 61x engine in my old square nose super jet that I would like to put in as a replacement. It looks like everything is the same and it should be a direct plug and play swap. Is there anything that I need to know before I go through with this? Are both engines identical?
I'm about to put the 61x engine from my SNSJ into my FX1. Anything I should know first?

They are the exact same engine.
Okay cool I thought so I just wanted to make sure. Did the FX1 come with a lighter flywheel? I seem to remember reading that somewhere

no. 61x electronics. 61x flywheels are lighter than the 62T flywheels that come in the 96-2020 SJ's. That may be what you are thinking about.
Oh okay. Yeah maybe that was it. Is there anything that I should do to my FX1 while I have the engine out? It's in almost perfect original condition and I would like to keep it that way but if now is the time to do something I'd like to do it while it's easy to get to everything.
