It's Almost always riding season... diagnosis:
Hand stuff:
- Operation did lots of temporary damage to all hand tendons. Need to get them moving so they don't sieze... Gotta be especially careful of the new thumb/index tendons.
+ If I didn't go for the thumb replacement, wouldn’t've noticed bad index finger damage, and other damage I don't understand; index tendon was close to torn
+ Repaired index tendon with old thumb tendon
+ Replaced thumb tendon with a somewhat redundant ring finger tendon
+++ I should be in good shape tendon-wise after.
Rehab:
week1-4 A pretty easy rehab thing (40min/day), 3 trips to pns per week.... If I hyperextend the index or the thumb this month I could be in worse shape than I was... So wearing something to prevent that during bumps/falls/whatever is wise.
Week5-8 ???
If all goes well, week 9 back to normal. (but weak)
I plan to get a hand restraint that won't let the fingres move when falling, and resuming one handed riding Aug04 (after next doc appt).
I'm thinking mount short 0" handlebar below umi turn plate whose center is at the pivot point (with room for throttle, killswitch... would need maybe 1/2" taller mounts for the straight bar so your hand fits.... (One hand setup)... whatcha think?
