here's my new ride. Sold my 04 SXR w/wet pipe to get this 08 Superjet. it's totally different then the pre 08 SJ. This ski needs nothing as far as handling goes and has a awsome impeller to top it off, finally a SS impeller!! the pole I think is shorter which makes it easier to ride. and the pump is set back and adjustable trim nozzle w/some grinding of the mounting bracket. Liter weight and Yamaha's reliability, IMO... is the best standup ski on the market today. molded in sponsons, taperd rear, and deep skigs all together nicely really makes the hull a work of art. coming from a Kawai guy.. this ski must rocks. one thing I notice, it don't like to go straight at a slow cruseing speed(wabbles side to side). and since the hull was redesign, it should have a drain at the rear for easy cleaning and drying out.

Good choice Jetski. I went from riding Kawi to a RN SJ and will never go back...

Sometime we should meet up on the CT river before the season ends. You can dock your boat right on my dock itself. You can whip mine and maybe get an idea of what you would like to modify on your ski if you have not ridden a decently modded SJ yet. I want to see what those 08 sponsons do for this boat...

You don't find anything wrong with the steering?

Wow. Wait until they come out with a quick steer turnplate. I suggest replacing your steering cable with an 07 or later.

it steer just fine.. IMO, that thing carves better/tighter then my SXR. and don't think the 08SJ needs any quick steer at all. will go to a UMI if only the OEM breaks or become sloppy. is the steering cable on the 08 weaker? I only notice the nozzle end linkage is different. again.. will replace only if it breaks.
