I never saw spam like that with the vBulletin. Is there still a question to sign up like who makes the Superjet? Maybe just throw that back on if it got forgotten with the XenForo. @SuperJETT

We had serious spam issues with vBulletin also. Once your forum gets big enough, it becomes a huge target and it takes constant work to keep the banned IP addresses list up to block their data centers they use. We hit that point many years ago.

Yes I have a question/answer setup but once one spammer figures it out, they put it in their database so they have the answer, so I change the question and they figure it out and repeat. I don't want to make the answer too hard because we have people signing up all over the world in all kinds of languages, so it needs to be accessible at least to people familiar with the sport.

I'd rather scroll past a spam here and there then push real people out. I tried signing up for a site for old Toyotas to get a couple hard to get parts and couldn't get past their spam. Turned out it was because I needed something Toyota related in my name or he assumed it was spam. That site is terrible compared to what it was years ago and I attribute it to that.
