Super Jet I'm not sure whats wrong...

I am new to stand ups. I have been out on mine like 3-4 times and never been able to actually ride it back to the ramp, always had to tow it. This is getting very old very quick. I will ride for a lil bit and fall several times then the last time i fall my ski wont start back up? At first i thought my battery kept dying on me but once i got home and put it on the charger it read between 50%-60%. I would always charge it for a lil bit then hook it up so it would start that way i could flush out the ski. Today it did the same thing only when i got it home i didnt connect it to the charger, it just sat for about a half hour and it started right up. So this made me think it isnt the battery dying...could it be something else like a loose connection or something. Please let me know what you think the problem could be, im tired of towing in my new toy.

You need to be more specific. When it won't start, does the motor at least crank? Or does it not do anything?

The best thing to do would be to find a local rider to you who has some experience with wrenching. Most guys in our community are eager to help newbies, chances are good it's something rather simple, but us guessing a bunch of miles away really isn't going to help you, could be a stop/start switch, starter problem. Loose wire or connection, these are rather simple machines and I'm sure the answer will come swiftly by someone that has an idea on how it works

Few options:
- loose ground wire at starter or battery
- loose positive wire at battery, starter, or relay
- starter going out

When running does the ski seem to have power. We have had numerous issues with my ride crew with battery/ power cable corrosion inside the insulation ( not visible by looking at it ) would be possible on a salt water ski. Just an idea. If you can get it to crank, do you have a compression tester/gauge?

you really need to check your battery, you can run a battery down pretty low till it wont really crank anymore let it sit for awhile and it can gain back a bit of juice to start you back up. if you dont have any test equipment then try a new battery if all your cable are tight. if you do take a reading at you battery. start your ski, take another reading. it should be higher with the ski running because at that point your ski is charging the battery. If it isnt charging you have bigger problem. (like an alternator on a car)

Well i have one of the handheld volt meter things...my battery read 12.12 then i started my ski and it read 12.08

Does that mean my ski isnt charging my battery? Do i need a new regulator rectifier?

Im not real mechanical but if its something simple i can do it as long as i see how it is put together in the first place. I just put a new spring on my handpole, like i said simple things are ok

ok well i got another regulator rectifier...the only question i have is that there are 2 green wires going out from it, and i cant tell which is which compared to the old one. Does it matter which green wire i connect to each green connector?

Did that fix your problem? I'm having a similar issue, the battery is not being charged. I just went through the ebox (for another reason) and cleaned everything/the grounds/redid a bit of wiring so I know it's not a loose wire. Battery was brand new. Rode all day and by the end of the day just wouldn't start any more. Tries to turn over and then eventually just clicks, just like a dead battery. Just not sure why it's not charging. Is there really anything else to replace charging-wise besides the rectifier?
