Impeller broke, locked everything up.

So I was cruising down the river today and something felt funny. It was a weird vibration that started right after I jumped a wake. 5 seconds later the engine locked right up and that was the end of my day. After I got towed back and pulled out of the water I realized the impeller had come apart and the piece that broke off jammed itself in which locked the motor up. I took it all apart today and I know I need a new wear ring, impeller, and stator section. Im also worried about my motor. With it locking up the way it did could I have thrown the crank out of phase? Any suggestion where to get new parts?

No just cruising along 15mph. What would cause the impeller to self destruct? its a solas

probably had a crack in it, if the motor runs with out new vibrations it should be fine

its a solas thats why. junk. i had a few do that over the years. never seen it mess up a motor but have see it wreck a drive shaft.

Absolutely not. The prop would cavitate if too restricted.

Alright - I just figured that it MAY have been a possibility with the additional deflection put onto the prop while the trim was at a 45° angle...
