This is one of those times when I can say I am glad I have a Kawasaki! Yamaha needs to ditch that crazy setup they use and make it like a Kaw 650/750/800!

Yeah you might as well replace the bearings and seals while you have it apart.

Wont Ship to Canada :banghead::banghead:

if you wanted it bad enough
I am sure you could just get it shipped to someone down here then they could ship it to Canada for ya, if you payed for the shipping I am sure someone would do it for ya
maybe someone you have all ready dealt with before that you trust
its a thought
you would just have to pay more shipping that's all

Use antiseize and torque to about 50 ft-lbs. If you undertighten it, the torque from the engine will overtigthen it and it will be hard to get off again.

how do you figure that?
if your engine makes x amount of torque,that's what the impeller will tighten itself to as it encounters resistance in the water plus or minus slippage.
granted 50ftlbs is probably more than most 701 pump out anyway and the friction created will somewhat prevent further tightening.

The same way an impact wrench works. If the impeller is loose when you nail the throttle, it will slip on the shaft. The difference in momentum between the shaft and the impeller will cause it to overtighten when it stops slipping.

Or, if it's loose when you let off the throttle, it can start to come off the shaft.

I ended up buying just the seal from a shop in town $36.00
Now i have an idea about the berrings, i buddy of mine spun a berring on a sled in the crank(im not trying to start a war with sleds) is sled is a few years old and its a problem they have had with that style of berring, so with the new sleds they are ALL sealed berrings, So im thinking i might swap out my berrings for sealed berrings there is a shop in town that has every type of berring ever made...what do you guys think about that,Has anybody ever spun a berring in there pump or heard of it happening, im sure it wouldnt be good if it did happen...

the stock prop on my fx-1 was as bad as yours to remove. we used heat, a vise, long breaker bar and 3 people and finally it came off but it completley stripped the threads off the prop which were still on the shaft threads. took a while to take clean the shaft threads with a dremel.

I bought a used 750 SX pump once that had a bearing that exploded and messed up the pump some. We have a bearing supply store here in my town that can get bearings. Kawasaki's come with shielded bearings. They don't have any gease in the tailcone either like a Yamaha. I always pop those little seals off and pack them as full as I can get them with a waterproof grease. Stainless bearinsg would be even better.
