so i have been wondering if the billet ones are any better than the soft rubber ones. every time i get done with a ride i reach in in intake grate to find my nose cone half way up the drive shaft. it creates horrible cavitation and im tired of it.

Sounds like you've got the wrong nose boot. If it's the right size, it'd be a PITA to get off the prop. I bought a prop that had a billet nose boot on it. Looks pretty but I've never ripped a rubber one.

it didnt rip it just isnt very secure on the prop. it was a used one that came with the mag pump i bought. the prop i bought new for my superjet came with one that was way to loose on the shaft. the one im using now slides in and out of the prop pretty easy.

use a little crazy glue on the rubber one. Those billet ones will weld themselves to the stainless shaft in saltwater in no time.

Dont use 5200, made that mistake once. Hard to remove and you will need a new one after that.

Use silicone to seal to impeller and to the shaft, easy to remove and wont come off anymore.

you use silicone with the nose piece, or just silicone?

i forgot to put mine on once and noticed a big difference on bottom end hook up when i put it back on.
