I am wondering if there is some way to remove an impeller without an impeller tool? Ski is completely torn down so I have the drive shaft out, is it possible to use this in place of the tool?

yea, put a big pipe wrench on the shaft and a wrench on the other end. thats how i do it when i cant find the proper tools, which is more often than not

Get the proper tool for the job. Inexpensive and it could potentially save you future problems. You don't want to accidentally bend the shaft or bung up the splined end of the shaft by throwing it in a vise.
Ps: remember yamaha is regular thread and Kawasaki is reverse thread.

I just pulled my impeller from my 145 mag (kawi) 10 minutes ago, it came off lefty loosey with the shaft in the vise just as the manual above has it.

Good to know. I very well may be mistaken. It was last year when we pulled it off the sxr, so I could have it mixed up

I used the stock shaft in a vise but its risky, I use a old 550 driveshaft bent just past the splines now. works perfect.

The prop tool is like 10- 20 bucks, or you can make one from an old shaft. cut it and weld a nut on it.
