Impeller upgrade advise

I have a 1990 Superjet with a 650. I also have a 1994 Superjet bored out to 719 with a Riva Red pipe. I currently have a Hooker 10/16 in the 1994. I would like to put the Hooker 10/16 in the 1990 stock 650 and upgrade my impeller in the 1994 . I am looking for advise as to what would be a good upgrade . I don't care about speed , only jumping waves and fast acceleration . Thank you .

There's not really an "upgrade" from that 10/16 in your 1994, I'd leave that there and get a 9/15 or similar for your '90.

I have no personal expirience with this, so take it for what it's worth. But, most of the impeller application charts out there actually show steeper impellers on the 650's than the 701's because the motor makes it's power at a lower rpm.

So the 10/16 might be about right if a 9/15 is right for a stock 701.

If you have firsthand experience that disagrees, then never mind.

I understand that but wouldn't it still indicate a 650 might want a steeper impeller than a 701?

Every prop design has a different pitch spread. You cannot look at the numbers. If I were to run a skat freeride swirl it would be a 12/17. But to run a Hooker I would run a 10/16. Or a Solas I series would be a 14.5/19 or so. But they are all designed for same size motor. One pitch by X mfg does not equal the same pitch as Y mfg.

Not to mention that any 701 makes so much more power than the 650 at every point in the RPM range, its not even close..

New question. I have a stock 650 Superjet with stock impeller .I have Solas 15/19 laying around . Would the 15/19 impeller be a better upgrade for the stock 650 or would that be too steep for it also . Just thinking here .
