IMPROS 30+ day turnaround

I hate to post anything not on a positive note BUT i wish i had read this .

IMPROS ( Dave) got me twice with 30+ day turnarounds.

Last year he apologized and said it never happens and gave me a discount for the mistake and then sent me the wrong pitch which i didn't bitch about due to being thankful i finally got it back..

This year same BS with lip service like " it is boxed and ready to go out today" and the next week, " I'll get it boxed up and sent out'.

Keep in mind I called first and asked about how busy he was, and was informed TWO DAY turnaround in most cases. I figured two weeks. COULDN"T HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG!
It is + 30 Now and it only shipped today due to me calling saying WTF>>>>

Others say he hooked them up with one day turnaround. I realize some hold Dave on there shoulders, but This is not an attack of his PERSON, just information on his business practice. I actually enjoyed talking to DAVE, he seems like a nice guy.

Don’t forget to call about Pricing. Example: SXR prop cut back for a 650 pump Listed 40. He will hit you up for 70.00 get it done local.

I post this for those of you that are on the fence of sending Anything to Him. If you need it, KEEP IT…. Unless your one of those who get hooked up while others get shelved!
 
I personally rate him as a top notch guy and since this is in the general forum and not the feedback forum I will voice this.

He has been awesome to me any time I have contacted him. Great guy to deal with. Sucks that you have had bad luck.
 
my experience is that he is informative but good luck getting in touch with him. when he answered he said he would call me back in 5 minutes. a half hoour later he has me go to voicemail. i gave up on contacting him. there are others that are willing to take my money.

Dave has always come through when i needed stuff, great to deal with
however i know right now with his event coming up, he is EXTREMELY busy, plus peak season is upon him

its also a niche business and when someone is busy, they cant always answer the phone, email etc

just try working it out with him is all i can say
no one is perfect
 
I've been trying for over two weeks to get in contact with him. Emails and phone calls, being told he will call me right back. All I know is if I ran our business like this... it wouldn't be for long.

I hear the old "give them a break, they're swamped right now" thing all the time. But lets face it, it's REALLY easy to have an e-mail autoreply, or set your voicemail up to reflect what is going on. Communication is the key. You stand to lose more business by keeping people waiting/wondering than what you would if you had said "it will be a month before I can get to it"

All you need to do is let people know, and 9 times out of 10 they will be happy.

I know a lot of guys here stand up for the companies they have ties with, or are friends with, but even those people see situations like this, so now is as good a time as any to put yourself in shoes of the guy thats getting the poor service.

I will say Dave can be hard to communicate with via phone and email. I only have one transaction (bought a Hooker) which was flawless.
 
NOT one time was I ever rude, or the Where's my prop guy...... I spoke to Dave and his employees with respect as i hope to get when I corner myself in a situation.

i was told three times it was shipping out today. Blatant well rehearsed lies!

I received an E-mail tonight from Dave telling me He finished it and shipped it out TODAY.
The only reason it is done was because of another call.

He also made sure to tell me He personally did and it was perfect as a consolation for his shortcomings.

This alone makes me think of the faith he has in his other employees. If not why was he so adamant to mention it was perfect for my troubles.

I mailed it out on the 2nd of LAST MONTH and will get it on the 14 of this month. He didn't even expedite shipping and charged me more to ship it than it cost me.

For all who received your props fast, you could at least give me and many others props for being shelved!
I feel like a total TOOL for sending it to him after this happen exactly the same way last year.

So many stood up for him, how could I believe this is how he runs his business!
Once again..... Nice Guy... BAD BUSINESS......

My story pretty much same as yours.
 
I had a smooth transaction last fall - Dave answered the phone, answered my questions, and called me back when I left voicemails - sounds like things are getting busy over there
 
my story feels just like the op in this thread,dont send any of your props to impros or buy any props from there in the peak season unless you can do without it for a month or more.deal with skat or solas direct in summer and do your prop work with them in the fall and youll do a lil better

Kind of feels like I'm beating a dead horse here, but I placed an order for a new Hooker, and it arrived almost 3 weeks later ... wasn't shipped until almost 2 weeks after I placed the order.

Emailed first, and he said it was in stock, so that means it took 2 weeks to put the prop in a box, and ship it out ... even if Impros is a side business for Dave, it shouldn't take a week to put something in a box and ship it out.

Although I feel for you guys who are sending props in for service during the middle of riding season, I will say that when I sent mine in over the winter, Dave was very helpful. I don't know about turn around time since it really didn't matter to me but my experience with him was top notch. My experience with his hooker impeller is top notch as well but again, I ordered that over the winter and it didn't matter when I got that either.

Maybe he doesn't meet his guarantee now but then again, does any other prop manufacturer offer a turn around that quick?
 
I had great luck with him the few times I needed his help, but can't say the same for friends. I recommended his hooker impeller to a friend who called, left messages, etc for a solid business week Mon-Fri and never once got him, or a call back. He didn't try e-mail, just said hell with it Skat answers the phone. It's a shame he has a hell of a product and I had a guy with $270 in hand for a hooker. Guess you have to catch him when he's right there and ready to make a sale.
 
I picked up a Hooker 9/15 from dave a few weeks ago, I took around 14 days to ship, however he informed me of the wait time before I orded. He was however, a little tought to get ahold of on the phone.
 
Hmmm guess i got lucky. When i bought a hooker from impros this spring i got a hold of Dave first try. Very helpful over the phone, said it would ship in about a week and i had it in two. I'm not on a first name basis with him or anything either, only bought stuff from him a couple times. Sucks so many of you have had bad experiences.
