Looks to me that your front crank seal is leaking...

It's gonna get all new gaskets and tuned when it gets back together so no worries there. The piston was a lot dirtier before I wiped it off, it just came a lot cleaner then the other one. You could tell one cylinder was running a lil off though before I cleaned them. Most of the info in this thread is accurate. But please keep in mind that a rich mixture/fuel washing of the top of the piston is not the only reason the piston top would be clean. Very common in this watercraft sport for water intrusion to cause the same clean piston top. Leaky head o ring or gasket, water leaking by the hood seal and into the carb with open element flame arrestors.......among others.

Technically, the cases are line bored as a pair from the factory so there is a chance that they could be off, probably not to the result of wrecking the bearings but more likely to have an air leak. With that said, I think there have been a good number of people that have run mismatched cases with success, a leakdown test will help you determine if there is an issue. It looks like this motor has been running, if it were me, I would probably continue to run it as is (assuming it passes the leakdown test).I'll look tonight when I get home. Is it still runnable if they are mismatched or will it kill my bearings?
