One you understand the TL, you'll love it, and you won't worry about the endles hours you spend making everything look pretty and making sure all your connections are sweet!

I'll second that. I may not understand everything there is about total loss but one thing is for sure... No ski of mine will ever go without total loss from now on.

It wasn't pretty to set up initially and then was a pure SOB debug a partially working used system but I'd spend another 15-20 hours doing it again if I had to.

Im using a 760 ftont cover with the charging coils taken out so it just has the pickup sensor
Then i get an 800 or 760 flywheel and take the magnets out amd remove the small lump
Wire in a reprogramed sxr ignition or one of the many styles out there

The front covers sell for about 60 and the flywheels for about 40 so its all cheap
then its an easy reprogram of the ignition all you need is the reference angle and your done
Fully programable yamaha igntion with a digital pickup
you can leave the charge coils in if you like but its not worth it with the good batteries we have these days as well as the low current draw of the new style ignitions

Charles is sooooo 'the man', that after 21 hours of non stop total loss school that I came home and did a 4270 t/l for my neighbor. (granted-it is NOT in the ski yet and my ability is yet to be proven)But it shonuff looks good and clean on the board with EVERY connection soldered, sealed, shrink wrapped w/adhesive heat shrink, and greased using all weather-pak connectors and almost all the excess wire hidden from plain view.(as per crammit442 specs).

I FINALLY got my ski in the water today and all went well. NO electrical issues/NO fresh engine rebuild issues. BUT I did get a ticket for expired stickers(the new ones were at home on the kitchen counter) and
too fast in the no wake zone and wreckless operation of a pwc. LOL


Crazy part is I really don't care about the ticket cause my ski is ripping really hard w/NO issues!!! I'm easy to please, let me go to the lake and not have to wrench on my ski. LOL Again, hats off to Crammit for all the t/l help and knowledge!!!

I didn't score any brownie points today. After I pulled out some plain clothes nerd comes up and keeps talking as I am trying to get away from him to leave. Then the new maine popo lady walks up to me 10 minutes later w/the ticket book out. Dude then flashes his badge after she rats him out in frt of me. I explained to him that he just performed entrapment and explained to her that her other partners are freinds of mine-she really didnt give a dam. I was polite to her, but told dude he was a total dick. It's gonna be a long year pissin in the gas tank of her boat every week!!!

I don't know if you can get out of the dead sticker citation but I sure would try. Where did they give you a ticket at? Speegals? That sucks balls Gill, I got a no wake zone ticket once and was PO'd to high he!! and back. I was going as slow as humanly possible on a stand up. Oh well... that is just why I always get paranoid around the water Po Po's. Because you know they will single a stand up out every time. It would kill them to go bust a drunken boater...
