Well this 2013 does have a HIN number...
Starts with a TH-
It may not be a state issued HIN but it does have one
I was quoted $800 by wake zone for the minimum coverage !

Mine has a number like that too. That is just a serial number RRP made up. Maybe you'll get lucky in FL and get it through DMV. Here they look up HIN's from the CG/DMV database, and the RRP issued one is NOT registerable.

Contact Zac Cullen of http://Protectthetoys.com. Protect The Toys specializes in insuring all things badass. Tell him Zack Bright sent you. He makes it happen. He's a local friend of my family. supports free riding and got me to France this year. Hit him up

hey zack, can you ask Zac Cullen to give some examples of rickters or other AM hull losses that his company has paid out on? it will will benefit us, and REALLY benefit him if he has proof.

My Rickter is insured as a custom built pwc by a custom boat insurer, it was easy thru my insurance agent, but this is canada, insured for 20g for theft or sinking only.

Was trying to see if I could do it without using the super jet info. So far no go

Maybe I wasn't 100% clear on this before, my apologies - "using the Superjet info" is very clearly very illegal and any policy written using that info for a ski other than that Superjet will result in a fraudulent policy that I'll never pay out, plus a fraudulent loan.
I get it, you want a loan on the Rickter and the bank will not issue one without a HIN they can look up.
Using a SJ HIN is not the answer. It will get you in very hot water - bank fraud.
If you absolutely must finance that Rickter, take out a personal loan or use a credit card. I personally wouldn't do either, but if you must, at least do it legally.

TL,DR: Don't do it that way.

I dont have $8500 to fork over at the moment so I'd rather have a low monthly payment :)

What kind of interest rate the giving you? That 8500 dollar hull is probably going to cost you 10+k

I was brought up that you dont purchase luxuries on credit the only things i would borrow money for is real estate or transportation if need be

Interest is for suckers

Loans are cheap these days if you have decent credit. I got a personal loan with 2.99 percent interest through warren federal credit union on my SJ. Had I only paid the minimum payment my interest was only gonna cost me like 900 - 1000 bucks if I remember correctly. Still, paying cash is always beneficial. Not all of us can afford it though. Some of us are still blue collar boys who blow our cash every week on nonsense :dunno:

That is what I tried to do, register as rickter entirely having no sj affiliation; just can't be done. I tried the personal loan as well and only qualified for half the amount since I don't have a large income (though i have an 818 credit). I decided to keep the SJ as I take it as a sign that I kept running to issues with this loan. I am taking a $2k personal loan instead, and fixing my SJ. (Reinforcing, adding tubbies, etc). I plan to sell my condo next year and will have good equity so maybe a Rickter will happen then.

If you can't pay cash for it, and it isn't a necessity item or survival issue then you for gosh sakes don't pay retail!

Cars, skis, boats, houses why buy new? Let some other sucka pay the depreciation cost. Don't get a loan for something brand new. Terrible investment.

Maybe screen name change to I wanna rick Roy hull.

The only legal way I know of is to do a home-built registration. It's federally regulated but administered somewhat differently by all the states. I cannot give any advice on how it works in Florida, but in my state I just filled out a single form, submitted a bill of materials (receipts, basically) and was issued a title and HIN. The hoops you have to jump through in your state may be different, but you should still be able to do it.
However, you will not be able to get a loan for it.

Good luck.

FL is the same as your description Matt. Receipts of build materials and fill out a form then bam! You're legal to ride. Couldn't be any more simple
The loan thing kinda throws a stick in the spokes though. Sorry to hear about your difficulties IWannaYama, buying cash is obviously the best idea but if you're on a low income with excellent credit and not too much debt to income ratio then I can understand. I don't know if you're young/old single/married kids/alone etc but its healthy to have at least 1 hobby and passion. You obviously want a Rickter so you can have a better performing ski to step up your game. At least you're lucky enough to live near surf so you aren't very limited by your Superjet compared to being a flatwater guy. Worst case scenario you throw some tubbies on your SJ and rocker the nose and now you are on a solid platform to progress your skills with. Better carving and steering ability and less likely to pearl on the face of the wave. That alone will give you enough confidence to go hard.
