I have an 1989 300 SX. I would like to try and get it to hook up more in choppy water. I was hoping to put a scoop grate on it, but not finding one available. I have a thought of building a scoop with my stock grate. If so what angle and what length of scoop should I weld fast. I was going to notch the scoop and weld to the stock grate grid section. Should I put the scoop in the middle, towards the front or torwards the rear of the intake? Hey if anyone knows of an aftermarket new or used let me know please.

300s arent made to hook up in the wake lol.Ijust cut mine and smoothed it out and i noticed a difference off that.Idk what ur looking for but ur not gonna get much out of the 300.

300s are awesome! I have a pjs scoop grate on my js300 and it definately hooks up better in the chop then the stock one the only con was a small loss in top speed which was not alot and in my opinion worth it for a better handling ski.
There was a few on ebay a while back. A top loader intake and extended rideplate are the next parts I am buying.
