Intake Grate Help.

So I need some help. I have 3 grates and 2 skis and need help with what one for what ski.

Left to right. R&D, R&D, Jet Dynamics.
Skis are Stock 91’ SN 650.
01’ RN w/ ADA head and B Pipe

^^^^^ agreed! But That one On the right, jet dynamics with that large/tall center beam made my SJ ride Squirrley... rode nice with the one you have in center of pic

Thanks. I was thinking the middle one on the 650 SN just because the scoop is much smaller than the other two.

Probably try the two outer ones on the RN.

the center one is best if you are looking for straight line wfo stability on smooth water and you don't have a mag pump, but if you want max hook up in choppy /rough water where getting squirrely happens anyway, the JD is best.
not a fan of the old R&D on the left. I had the un supported top scoop break off, hit and unscrew the prop, shove the driveshaft forward and bust motor mounts and knock a hole in the pump cavity where it lodged. that was on an X2 15 years ago, but I never liked those since.

So out of the middle R&D and the Jet Dynamic which ski of mine would you put which one on?

The SN will have a stock 650 with milled head and a novice 16 year old on it and a loaner for friends.

The RN will be my ski with Yamanube DIY porting ADA head and B Pipe.

Both will be ridden 80% at lakes and 20% at Pismo.

Just to give a little update on this and no, I haven't gotten a chance to try any of them yet.

I spoke with Glen at Jet Dynamics and he said my Jet Dynamics #4 on the right in the picture above was the first one he ever made for the Superjet which is the 650 SN. It is not very aggressive or deep and he said it was specifically for a stock 650 and even said it wouldn't be that great for a stock 701 SN. So I am going to put it on my stock 650 SN for now and then see how it does when I drop the 701 in later into the summer.

The RN is going to get the middle R&D an I will report back if I ever get it done.
