SXR Intake manifold design..

Hi, does anybody knows why the intake manifold are connected each to other via a internal duct or external like the 1100cc?
The racing ones aren’t like oems and they are individuals.

It helps with low speed throttle response. Works fine for stock to mild engines. If you get into porting IMO it’s a good idea to block the crossover passage. Group K’s website has some good technical information on this.
