Intake / Reed Gaskets; Grease, Sealant, or Dry?

I am replacing the intake / reed gaskets on an SXR motor, should I grease them or use any sealant?
The previous owner used something that was a PITB to get off, but I don't want leaks either.

Also, the torque specs in the SXR manual seem incredibly light. Any thoughts on that?

Follow the torque specs, those holes strip readily.
