Intake / Reed Gaskets; Grease, Sealant, or Dry?

I am replacing the intake / reed gaskets on an SXR motor, should I grease them or use any sealant?
The previous owner used something that was a PITB to get off, but I don't want leaks either.

Also, the torque specs in the SXR manual seem incredibly light. Any thoughts on that?

After dealing with a couple small air leaks. I 1211 everything now.

Follow the torque specs, those holes strip readily.

Clean, flat, bone dry. The last two are not how you want your women but for gaskets this works for me.

Brand new gasket, clean/flat surface, install dry and torque to spec
